My Journey Starts Here
I had a plan for the last couple of years. To say that it has been wildly unsuccessful would be a massive understatement, and I’m not even talking about a worldwide pandemic.
I was going to start this blog from a place of success. I was going to use my health science degree to be a naturopath and teach about food and the body, self-care, and what it truly means to live a full, meaningful life.
The life got dramatic.
(That’s the understatement I was talking about)
Life showed me pretty quick that far from knowing my sh*t, I knew diddly squat about pretty much everything. Throw in severe depression and anxiety, healing from trauma, being bisexual in a community that doesn’t accept me, deciding not to continue my degree, a very close friend passing away suddenly and so much more… I was drowning. Sometimes it feels like I still am. I realized that I needed all the advice I was going to give you, dear reader. I needed to learn about self-care, mental health, emotional health, boundaries, pretty much everything!
But when I looked into health, mindfulness and all of the above, the overwhelm was real. There is so much advice out there!! And what is more important?! Vitamin D? Hormone regulation? Eating enough micronutrients???
I haven’t got the foggiest.
The only thing left to do is just start trying things and seeing if they work. I started looking at the research to see if the advice is supported and even worth trying to add to the very short list of things that I have the energy for. I was surprised at what was deemed solid advice and what either didn’t work or wasn’t very effective.
Some of the advice worked very well! But I completely don’t have the head space to even start adding that to my life, I need baby steps. Little tidbits that I can slowly add to my routine and when I start feeling better, that’s when I can start adding the big stuff. And if you’re here, reading this, then you’re probable feeling the exact same.
So welcome, fellow tired girl! I’m so glad that you’re here to follow along my journey to more energy, and I hope you will find tips to help you too x
